Emily has been painting and teaching art her whole life .   She has studied and traveled in Europe and Japan. Although her major medium is  sumi, she also works in watercolor and oils. Her paintings are now exhibited in the Puget Sound area galleries, museums, libraries and businesses. She has also shown in Minnesota, Florida, Texas, Virginia, Washington D.C., Canada, Japan, and Kuwait. She is a member of the Puget Sound Sumi Artists, Women Painters of Washington, and the Sumi-e Society of America.
